Senior Data Scientist

What will you do?

A day in the life of a Senior Data Scientist at VF looks a little like this:

Develop and implement advanced pricing models using statistical and machine learning techniques.

Analyze large datasets to identify pricing trends, patterns, and opportunities.

Collaborate with product, marketing, and finance teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives.

Understand, improve, and explain the pricing engine's outcomes to guide business decisions.

Conduct A/B testing and other experiments to evaluate the impact of pricing changes.

Monitor and optimize pricing models to ensure they remain effective and competitive.

Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Mentor and guide junior data scientists and analysts.

Leverage junior team members for parts of the solution and peer review their work to ensure correctness.

Qualifications:

Strong foundation in data science, statistical analysis, and machine learning.

Proven experience in developing and implementing pricing models.

Ability to analyze large datasets and derive actionable insights.

Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Effective communication skills to present findings and recommendations.

Experience in mentoring and guiding junior team members.

What do you need to succeed?

Master’s or Ph.D. (preferred) in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on pricing and optimization.

Proficiency in programming languages Python and SQL with ability to write production level code.

Strong hands-on experience with statistical, machine learning and deep learning models.

Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn).

Experience with cloud environment AWS/Azure/GCP.

Experience with Gurobi/CPLEX/PYOMO/OR-Tools etc. and solid understanding of optimization is required.

Experience in Retail Industry is preferred.

Hiring Range: $138,240.00 USD - $172,800.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
