Job Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the accounting function, ensuring the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, comprehensive financial reporting, and adherence to accounting standards and regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting:

Assist in managing and executing the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and other reporting standards.

Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate billing, collections, and payroll processing.

Compliance & Audits:

Conduct audits of accounts to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations.

Assist with annual external audits and quarterly financial reporting tasks.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations within assigned tasks.

Collaboration & Support:

Contribute to ongoing improvements in accounting processes and controls.

Participate in special projects and provide support for ad-hoc tasks as required.

Assist international teams in meeting local filing deadlines and maintaining global financial operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Preferred CPA or equivalent certification.

8+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting procedures.

Proven leadership skills and experience managing a team.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

At Luminar, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays a base between $140k and $180k* per year. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. You will also be eligible to receive other benefits including: equity in the form of restricted stock unit awards, comprehensive medical and dental coverage, 401k plan, life and disability benefits, flexible time off, paid parental leave, and tuition reimbursement for formal education related to advancing your career at Luminar. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire and schedule type.
