Job Description

Phlebotomist

Job Description

As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for drawing patients’ blood and performing specimen processing in a patient service center or outpatient setting. You will collect and receive biological specimens, ensure their proper entry into the computer system, prepare samples for analytical testing, and distribute specimens to the correct analytical areas. This role also involves performing specified analytical testing as assigned, following the guidelines of the Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

+ Draw patients’ blood and perform specimen processing in a patient service center or outpatient setting.

+ Collect and receive biological specimens into the department.

+ Ensure proper entry of specimens into the company’s computer system.

+ Prepare samples for analytical testing.

+ Distribute specimens to the appropriate analytical area.

+ Perform specified analytical testing as assigned.

+ Follow the guidelines of the Code of Conduct.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in blood draw and specimen collection.

+ Have gone to a program that also provided an externship.

+ Knowledge of laboratory and phlebotomy procedures.

+ Ability to perform specimen processing.

+ Strong patient care skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Prior phlebotomy experience is preferred.

+ Open to entry-level candidates with a great personality, externship experience, and references.

+ Personality and integrity are highly valued.

Work Environment

Various locations open throughout the valley. Different locations have different schedules. Have locations in Scottsdale and float positions in Phoenix.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 – $23.36/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
