Job Description

To review and update master floor plans for the Capitol Complex; update room numbers on the plans and tour all buildings to confirm; code reviews of a small project and written notes of deficiencies; plan project review with an approved code footprint, including written notes of deficiencies; attend critical meetings of the department.

Internship Project DutiesThe Office of Facilities and Property Management is actively looking for individuals wanting to learn more about architectural and engineering practices. Duties will include reviewing and updating master floor plans for the Capitol Complex; update room numbers on the plans and tour all buildings to confirm; perform code reviews of a small projects and written notes of deficiencies; complete a review of project plans with an approved code footprint; attend critical meetings of the department. Attend Architect/Engineer interviews and evaluate firms.

Additionally, learn and assist with:

Updating AutoCAD master floor plans for the Capitol Complex.
Attend Owner-Architect-Contractor meeting and write up meeting minutes.
Attend Architect/Engineer interviews and summarize strengths of each firm.
Tour all buildings to confirm room numbers and updates accordingly on plans.
Attend AIA-ACEC-OFPM Partnering meeting.
Review proposals for a project under consideration for shortlisting by the SBAC and attend the meeting where shortlisting is completed.
Introduction to private Architect/Engineer firms and contractors.
Supports the Office of Facilities & Property Management team as needed per the supervisor

Minimum Education RequirementSenior level of high school with a desire to learn more about Architecture, Engineering or Construction

Preferred QualificationsCollege student or graduate majoring in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or related field
