Summary

This position is based in Anchorage but will primarily perform deep cleaning services to facilities throughout Alaska. The position is seasonal and involves non-traditional schedules with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

Cleans offices, public spaces, industrial areas, warehouses, exterior areas, and additional areas as required.
Assists journeyman level painter in small interior painting projects.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, extracts, waxes, buffs, vacuums, etc. all types of floors.
Cleans carpets.
Dusts both low and high areas using ladders and lifts.
Wipes down or cleans various surfaces to include walls and ceilings.
Cleans windows.
Uses appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions for all tasks.
Removes and properly disposes of discarded materials.
Removes and transports trash to the appropriate disposal areas.
May change light bulbs and perform very light facility maintenance.
May operate a vehicle.
Position requires routine weekly, overnight stays within the State of Alaska with travel by aircraft.
Other related duties may also be assigned.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Some combination of education or experience that evidences a working knowledge of cleaning equipment and general cleaning processes. Experience in facility maintenance and painting preferred.
A valid Alaskan driver’s license with a 3-year driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Position requires successful screening through multiple background and security checks.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Safety conscious.
Good ‘people’ skills, personable & professional.
Reliable, versatile, well-organized, disciplined, self-starter.
Math skills sufficient to calculate figures and amounts.

Skills and Abilities

Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Speak effectively before others.
Read and utilize electrical drawings, logic diagrams, and schematics.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Weather: Indoors and outdoors, frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

Noise level: Moderate to loud.

Description of environment: Environment will vary based on the facility assigned to.

Physical requirements: Employee is required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Frequently to constantly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands/fingers to handle or feel, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk/hear, see, taste/smell, and carry weight/lift. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs, and work at elevated heights.
