Job DescriptionUniversal Surveying & Mapping is hiring an Autocad Technician in Houston, TX! USM is a multi-disciplinary civil engineering and land surveying firm with expertise in land development, planning, transportation projects, utilities, construction inspection, and surveying solutions. Our team of engineers, surveyors, and technicians take great pride in the quality and accuracy of the engineering and surveying work they deliver. We hire professionals who often enjoy long careers with the Universal family, honing their instincts and knowledge of regulations that help put the final polish on every aspect of the job.

Requirements:

3-10 years Autodesk CAD related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in principles/practices of Land Surveying and Mapping.
Heavy experience in principles/practices of Oil & Gas Pipeline Mapping.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and proof of current auto insurance.
Responsibilities:
Prepare drawings using Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems.
Use of BluSky, RouteMapper and/or PlatMapper software

Have Experience producing the following deliverables:

Engineering Alignment Sheets
Easement Plats with Legal Descriptions
HDD Designs
Crossing Permits
Project Construction Typicals
Draw topographical and relief maps to aid in design.
Draft technical details.
Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures.
Follow drafting Standards and understand templates for deliverables.
Prepare variations of design.
Write metes and bounds descriptions.
ODOT experience preferred but not required.
